We are seeking a Hardware Engineer to

design, development, and testing of hardware systems for autonomous vehicles. Leveraging your expertise in electrical engineering, embedded systems, and automotive electronics, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to design and integrate cutting-edge hardware components that enable the operation of autonomous driving systems. Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop hardware systems for autonomous vehicles, including electronic control units (ECUs), sensor interfaces, power distribution systems, and communication networks.
  • Specify, select, and integrate sensors, actuators, cameras, LiDAR, radar, and other hardware components required for perception, localization, and control in AV platforms.
  • Develop hardware architectures, schematics, and layouts, ensuring compliance with automotive standards, safety requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to define hardware-software interfaces, develop drivers, and optimize hardware performance for AV applications.
  • Conduct prototype bring-up, debugging, and testing of hardware systems, including functional verification, signal integrity analysis, and thermal management.
  • Work closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and partners to source components, manage procurement, and ensure quality control throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Perform risk assessments, failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA), and reliability testing to identify and mitigate potential hardware failures and safety hazards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical engineers, firmware engineers, and system architects, to integrate hardware subsystems into complete AV platforms.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in automotive electronics, semiconductor technologies, and AV hardware platforms to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


  • Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • Proven experience in hardware design and development for automotive or embedded systems, with a focus on autonomous vehicles preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in analog and digital circuit design, PCB layout, and schematic capture tools (e.g., Altium Designer, Cadence Allegro).
  • Experience with automotive communication protocols such as CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, and automotive Ethernet (100BASE-T1, 1000BASE-T1).
  • Knowledge of automotive safety standards (e.g., ISO 26262), EMC/EMI requirements, and functional safety concepts (e.g., ASIL).
  • Familiarity with sensors and sensor fusion algorithms used in AVs, including LiDAR, radar, cameras, GPS, and inertial measurement units (IMUs).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to present technical concepts and solutions to stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with simulation and modeling tools such as SPICE, MATLAB/Simulink, or ANSYS for hardware design and analysis.
  • Familiarity with ISO 21448 (SOTIF) and other AV safety standards and regulations.
  • Experience with automotive-grade microcontrollers, FPGAs, SoCs, and ASICs used in AV applications.
  • Previous work on AV projects or in the automotive industry.
  • Contributions to open-source hardware projects or publications in hardware design conferences/journals.
